Subject opinion to coercion: whom will you make your inquisitors? Fallible men, governed by bad passions, by private as well as public reasons. And why subject it to coercion? To produce uniformity? But is uniformity of opinion desirable? No more than of face and stature.

Barack Speaks: Uh Oh

We have known little about Barack Obama views, but he is now speaking:

Democrat Barack Obama said Wednesday that as president he would spend $210 billion to create jobs in construction and environmental industries, as he tried to win over economically struggling voters.

Obama's investment would be over 10 years as part of two programs. The larger is $150 billion to create 5 million so-called "green collar" jobs to develop more environmentally friendly energy sources.

Socialism? No, not really, Barack seems to hold more of a communist point of view where the state creates jobs. Not even a "stimulus", Barack Obama is not interested in creating jobs but specific types of jobs, whether or not the market--the citizenry--requires such jobs.

BTW: Does "environmentally friendly" this mean nuclear? It is an environmentally friendly energy source.
