I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

Bush Speaks. Hunter S. Thompson is High!

Sure, there will be a lot of debate about Bush’s “five point” speech, but it was solid. There was nothing new, and the rehearsal paid off. It was no more inspiring than any speech rehashing old information. No minds will be changed, but it will give the opportunity for all to play Clear Politics.

Now, for the fun. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas : A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream? Hell’s Angels? Better Than Sex? You’ve never heard? These are some of the works of Hunter S. Thompson, a hard living, hard playing (really hard drinking and smoking) author. He sure likes his stimulants.

One must wonder what kind of long-term memory he has left. He recently posted some commentary, insight, on his view of the Abu Ghraib prison photo debacle: "Not even the foulest atrocities of Adolf Hitler ever shocked me so badly as these photographs did." In fact he was so offended he concluded that he was “…really ashamed to carry an American passport.” Really, Hunter?

He is a bit older, he has fried a few brain cells and still loves the booze and, so perhaps… well, it might just be Clear Politics that ESPN has removed those comments from his post. Worse than Hitler? Come on Hunter, that’s too drunk.

Bush spoke, so let the games begin, but when they move their lips or you hear their words, ask yourself, is it truth or politics. We understand the truth in Clear Politics.

Let the entertainment begin!
