Free Markets. Free Minds. The End is Near.

On the election eve, CBS was going to try to significantly influence the outcome of the election, again. Are they going to tell you the economy is picking up?

Sure, CBS tried to influence the election with Rathergate, but it did not work, the information on the nascent internet took care of that dream. Now, they were going to try again with a bogus missing weapons story—somehow suggesting that the President of the USA is supposed to be marching around piles of explosives in IRAQ, gun in hand, protecting the Weapons of Mass(?) Destruction that do not exist. Well, the market spanked CBS once already, with viewers leaving, but CBS is still trying.

A great little article on Motley Fool talked about the market spanking CBS, as well as the spanking the market gave Sinclair for the Kerry “news” item they were going run. The point: The markets took care of the problem without government intervention—let’s repeat that, without the help of the government.

Markets are a beautiful thing, especially free markets. Do you think anyone will notice that one of the candidates is more pro-market than the other? Will anyone notice that the economy is picking up now? Will it make a difference?

Whatever happens, the market will price expectations, quickly, because the markets work.
