Subject opinion to coercion: whom will you make your inquisitors? Fallible men, governed by bad passions, by private as well as public reasons. And why subject it to coercion? To produce uniformity? But is uniformity of opinion desirable? No more than of face and stature.

- Thomas Jefferson

Day 03 of April

The truth about knowledge is that we know so very little, but it is one of the little conundrums: the more you know, the more you understand how little we know.

One of the panicking man-made global warming scientists has continued to learn, realizing we do not know:

Green Guru James Lovelock on Climate Change: ‘I don’t think anybody really knows what’s happening. They just guess’ – Lovelock Reverses Himself on Global Warming

Of course, we cannot dismiss the insipid, dangerous all knowing: Arrest Climate-Change Deniers

An absurd mental escape: Captain Forehead (Good luck!)

Day 02 of April

Money Used to Arrange Hand Holding

If it is not enough that the government spends money for bloated bureaucracy, be comforted by the fact that there are those who will hold the hands of those who were not looking for aid and direct them to their handout:

Obamacare enrollment boosted by in-person help, money

Day 19 of February

The Dark Ages Live!

You can choose to laugh or cry, but a great number of our fellow citizens are babbling, sycophant idiots and are not capable of change. The universal 'we' look back on the ignorance of the past as unavoidable, because they did not know better. We should know better, but every day people wake and fear the rain, or the lack of rain, or the snow, or the lack of snow, or the heat, or the cold, or the wind, or a volcano, or an earthquake, or any other myriad of natural events. Their ignorance is not a joke, but you might as well laugh.

Many of these same people who tremble in fear of the changing nature would readily agree that the earth has experienced many ice ages, and periods of warming that would make life unsustainable for the human species. They would say they understand that this information is part of the historical record, yet they presently believe that man is now dictating the changes in the natural evolution of the planet -- that we are nature's god. What do they think would happen if the human species did not exist? (For those unclear: If the human species did not exist, nature would continue to change. for change is all that is assured.)

Perhaps fear is a natural state, just as natural as ignorance, and it would appear the two are probably very highly correlated.

Day 29 of January

Asking Holder How

Watch. A nice questioning by Mike Lee of Eric Holder on how Obama can act as a dictator.

Day 20 of January

'The most destructive, dangerous president we've ever had'

Just take a minute to read, though anyone with the brains to visit us already understands what he lays out.

Day 14 of January

Clearly Disgraceful

As a whole, politicians are disgraceful, and the idea that we cede so much power over out lives to them is discouraging. As to the lie of the 'low' unemployment rate, we suggest you read the following:

Chart of the Day: The real unemployment rate?

Day 17 of December

Government By and For

A government by the people and for the people exists to protect the rights of the people.

A government by the governing for the governing exists to protect the prospering of the governing.

Which do you think we have at this moment? Which do you want?

Day 26 of October

Bad Math

More takers than makers? Yeah, this is sustainable...sure...right...

More receive than work full-time

Day 25 of October

Yes, we know this, but apparently people do not care!

You want your party to win? You fool... Party loyalty is absurd. Seek truth, honesty...which you do not want to seek in Washington.

Try reading This Town.

Day 17 of October

This Too Will POP nails it, this all a bubble of fantasy and it going to pop!

It is amazing that the economy is growing at a less than 3% rate, but the equities of companies doing business in this anemic economy are growing 1, 2 or 3 percent a day, regularly. Yeah, this is sustainable.

Haven't we been here before?

Day 14 of October

Thre Will Be No Default

Like the junkie who tells you if he does not get another fix now he will die, the default is mythology. May we suggest the following to inform the curious:

No, Failure To Raise Debt Ceiling Won't Cause Default

The U.S. Debt Ceiling Fallacy: Agreement Or Not, There Will Be No Default

We offer these because in talking with fellow members of the citizenry who were generally informed, they were not aware of this information. They feared default.

How tragic your government wishes you to fear. Those in power do not want the consent of the governed as much as they desire the desperate fear of the governed.

Day 08 of October

Wikipedia Double Standard?

Is Wikipedia applying a double standard? If you contribute to wikipedia at all--anyone can--you want to add useful information and/or remove useless information. Many wikipedia pages refer to government pages, such as USDA plant descriptions, etc. Well, some of us have removed some of these links, as they are dead links. Wikipedia restores those links pretty quickly, saying they will work again. These pages invariably have useful non-governmental links that are working and the government links are not only not working but often redundant, so why do they deserve special treatment? A dead link is a dead link.

Wikipedia is supposed to be a source for useful information in real time, not information that will one day be useful in the future. In fact, do you think any link not of a governmental nature would be maintained for its future usability? And would it not benefit us all to have a source of information independent of governmental tantrums? Maintain your standard, Wikipedia, kill the dead links.

Day 07 of October

Fear the Shutdown!

Actually, do not fear the shutdown, chant for more: "Shutdown! Shutdown! Shutdown!"

Nice little opinion piece: Stubborn democrats escaping all the blame in shutdown

But we have some thins to say as well:
Has anyone noticed how the Federal Government is using the National Park System and its police (Weapon carrying, law enforcing police for parks!?) to inflict pain on the American citizenry? They are not the government's parks, they are OUR parks. Our use of our national parks should in no way be incumbent upon your permission or oversight. Get out of the way and let us use our parks. THEY ARE OUR PARKS!!!! A mountain needs the government for its beauty to be enjoyed? Do not look at the Grand Canyon without the government's approval, for the government created the beauty? Those who believe life's beauty flows from the loins of government are the tragedy of our sorrow.

"Shutdown! Shutdown! Shutdown!"

Day 04 of October

Reading Fun

Next time you hear some bombastic idiot say "The science is settled!" or "Conservatives are ignorant for questioning the science!", recall this article: Science: the religion that must not be questioned

The quote we like to steal from renown philosopher e: Science does not answer questions, it creates better questions.

Great thinkers know and teach to question everything. Yes, EVERYTHING!
